Schweizer: Walz’s Exchange Program Tied to CCP

1

In a recent appearance on Fox News' "Jesse Watters Primetime," Government Accountability Institute president Peter Schweizer criticized Vice President Tim Walz's past student exchange program, alleging it has "all the hallmarks of a close association with the Chinese Communist Party (CCP)." Schweizer, a senior contributor to Breitbart News and author of "Blood Money: Why the Powerful Turn a Blind Eye While China Kills Americans," highlighted several concerning aspects of Walz's ties to China.

According to Schweizer, the exchange program, funded by the Chinese government, was closely managed by the CCP. Schweizer noted that during the program, Walz allegedly advised students to downplay their Americanness when visiting China, a peculiar directive for a cultural exchange.

Additionally, Schweizer pointed out that Walz gave a speech in 2019 to a group linked to Chinese intelligence and invited Chinese diplomats to his gubernatorial inauguration.

This controversy is not the first time Walz has faced scrutiny over his interactions with China. During his tenure as governor of Minnesota, he reportedly failed to address the presence of an unofficial Chinese police station in the Twin Cities, which Schweizer claims is operated by a pro-Walz organization.

Despite his denouncement of police brutality within the official police department, Walz has taken no action against this shadowy entity.

As Walz steps into the national spotlight as Vice President Kamala Harris's running mate for the 2024 election, these allegations could become a significant talking point. Walz's career began in Nebraska, and after serving in the Army National Guard and working as a high school teacher, he moved to Minnesota in 1996. He was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2006 and served six terms before becoming governor in 2018. His tenure has been marked by progressive achievements, including free school meals and bolstered state infrastructure.

However, Walz's past actions, such as his involvement in the student exchange program and his connections to Chinese entities, are now under the microscope. Critics argue that these ties raise questions about his judgment and potential vulnerabilities to foreign influence.

As the 2024 election approaches, these revelations add another layer of complexity to Walz's candidacy. His supporters emphasize his record of public service and legislative achievements, while detractors focus on his alleged associations with the CCP. The outcome of these debates could influence the public's perception of Walz and his role in the Harris campaign.
