Hurley’s thought process revolved around ending the violence quickly, with her interactions emphasizing peace over confrontation.

“Thank God she got on top of him because there was no end in sight. Her on her feet was doing nothing, I know her thought process was just getting it to stop, and she kept saying ‘We called the cops, we called the cops,’ and the kids wouldn’t stop. She just needed to get them to stop so that’s what her body did. There was no thought behind it,” Frankie Sielski said.

Returning to work shortly after the incident, Hurley showcased resilience and commitment to her role as an educator. Although physically unscathed, the episode left emotional marks, reminding us of the daily realities teachers face. The community continues to rally around her, collectively acknowledging her impact in a moment where personal courage met community responsibility.
